A Word From Our Pastor

Celebrate Presbyterian ABCs with an Adventure in Travel

Presbyterian heritage is rich in ABCs: All about great music and singing; Benevolent outreach and mission to a world in need; and Constitutional order and discipline in a common life together. Covenant Presbyterian Church is steeped in all these emphasis and more. I hope you'll join us for Great Adventures in Presbyterian heritage in our worship service each Sunday at 10:30 A.M.

In addition, I invite you to a Great Adventure in Presbyterian Heritage Travel, too. In June of 2011, I will be hosting a two-week tour of Scotland. Our travel emphasis will be on the Presbyterian heritage in Scotland as well as our Scottish history, the magnificent landscapes, and the welcoming, friendly people. On this trip you'll experience the many wonders of this magical land - the large cities and towns and villages alike, all steeped with a rich culture and history; spectacular scenic drives in the highlands; plus some of the fascinating islands to the west and north! Learn about Scotland's role in the Protestant Reformation and key Reformer John Knox, its turbulent history of kings and queens, and gain insight into the politics of this proud land.

You may contact me by reply via email (see below), or simply with a telephone call: 570-346-6400. Full and detailed brochure itinerary will be provided, along with estimated costs for the trip.

Along with my wife, the Rev. Dr. Carol Ann Fleming, we have enjoyed hosting 8 trips in the past 10 years: to the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany, to Switzerland and Austria in 2000 and again in 2010; to Churches of the Revelation in Turkey and Greece in 2002; on a Celtic tour to Scotland and England in 2003; on a Russian Cruise in June of 2004, to the Pilgrimage of St. James to Santiago de Compostela, Spain in 2005, on a Cruise Tour to Alaska in 2006, and a trip to China in 2008. Travel has proven to be a phenomenal means of both seeing amazing sights, but also strengthening relationships with those who travel with us. I pray that you'll join us for enriching and inspiring worship at Covenant Church and those with interest will contact me for more information about a Presbyterian Heritage Tour to Scotland in 2011.
Blessing and peace,

Rev. Scott G. Loomer
