• God calls the church to be an instrument of transformation and hope for individuals and society.
• The scriptures, as interpreted through the presence of the Holy Spirit, are authoritative for our life and teaching.
• The Book of Confessions, Book of Order and Presbyterian system and heritage are sources of guidance and inspiration for our common life.
• We encounter God through engagement with human need in both the local community and the world.
• We are called to treat others with the same respect and care with which we would want to be treated, to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength and our neighbors as ourselves. This applies especially to those identified as our enemies.
• God offers both wholeness and joy to any who follow Christ and fulfill the Great Commission to invite others into Christian fellowship.
