The Long Range Vision
This capital campaign is only a first step toward a larger vision that when completed in 5 - 7 years may cost in excess of a million dollars to realize. This vision, as developed by the Master Plan Taskforce, includes:
- Restoration of the "Scranton" D'Ascenzo window, directly across from "The Woman at the Well" LaFarge window, as well as work on several other windows;
- Refurbishing the third floor educational spaces to create a music rehearsal room and Christian education classrooms;
- Refurbishing the sanctuary with attention to aesthetics, sound quality, and function;
- Renovation of the Sawtelle Auditorium with restrooms and a separate entrance to allow exclusive access to that area and the kitchen for community mission outreach;
- Transformation of the manse from use as a pastor's residence to a first floor church "parlor" for hosting a variety of activities such as a young adult or student ministry, etc., with the upper two floors dedicated to other mission-related uses or apartments.
"Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:7-8)
